Accessibility
Accessibility is a key factor in creating the interface, functionality and visual design of any online application. All users must be able to access the product and make effective use of the available features in the application.
The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines provide a range of checkpoints which can be used to help measure the level of accessibility of any website.
- Non-text element (images, symbols...) must have a text equivalent ( ‘alt’ text)
- Language is clear, simple and appropriate for the purposes of the site
- Row and column headers are identified when tables are used
- Colours used in the foreground and background provide sufficient contrast
- Pages utilise stylesheets to control layout and presentation
- See the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Acumentum establish with our customers what level (A, AA, AAA) of accessibility they require. Adhering to such accessibility guidelines ensures that Acumentum’s products are highly usable and accessible.
